REDay2025 Copenhagen Commitment 70On 3 November 2025, during Renovate Europe Day in Brussels, EUMEPS joined more than 70 organisations and industries in signing the Copenhagen Commitment. The document, presented to European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen, sets out a shared pledge to make Europe’s buildings more energy-efficient, affordable, and fit for the future.

The Commitment brings together companies and associations from across Europe’s construction and renovation sectors. It calls for stable legislation, clear targets, and reliable financing to guide investment in improving the energy performance of buildings.

The signatories agree to:

  • Invest in production and local employment to strengthen Europe’s industrial base;
  • Develop practical renovation solutions that improve energy efficiency and affordability;
  • Work together across sectors to expand energy-efficient renovation in all regions.

Energy efficiency technologies such as insulation, efficient heating and cooling systems, and digital building controls are already available and widely used. With a predictable regulatory framework, these solutions can reduce household energy bills, lower emissions, and improve Europe’s energy security.

EUMEPS’ participation reflects its continued work to promote efficient insulation solutions and contribute to the EU’s long-term energy and climate objectives.

“Improving the energy performance of Europe’s buildings is one of the most effective ways to cut emissions and strengthen competitiveness. The EPS industry is ready to play its part,” said Jakub Stefaniak, EU Technical Affairs Manager of EUMEPS.

As the European Commission prepares its post-2030 energy efficiency framework in 2026, the Copenhagen Commitment underlines the need for collaboration between industry and policymakers to plan, invest, and deliver at scale.

EUMEPS will continue to support initiatives that help make Europe’s building stock more efficient, resilient, and affordable.
